Michael Pearce is an acoustic and electric bassist residing in NYC where he divides his time between playing on broadway, in the recording studio, on tour, with his bands, working with private students in his teaching studio, and musical directing solo artists.
Michael earned his B.M. in bass performance/ jazz studies from James Madison University and has studied at the University of North Texas in the graduate jazz bass program. Michael has performed with many Grammy and Tony award winning artists including Dianne Reeves, the late great Joe Williams, Arturo Sandoval, Ramsey Lewis, the late Nell Carter, Marilyn McCoo, Maureen McGovern, and Eartha Kitt. He has toured Europe and North America many times over with musical theatre tours such as GREASE, 42nd STREET, WEST SIDE STORY, CATS, CABARET, EVITA, and most recently, JERSEY BOYS.
Michael is currently playing and recording with NYC artists Jody Shelton, Tituss Burgess, Root Valdez, and Ben Arthur. He has also been playing and singing on the Tony Award winning hit broadway musical JERSEY BOYS, both in NYC and on the road. Recently, Michael held the bass chair for the new Broadway musical THE PIRATE QUEEN.
